Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour

1.Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,843 reviews · from $116Our pick

Ride 7 to 8 kilometers through northern Kyoto with an English-speaking guide, visiting Kinkakuji, Daitokuji, Kitano Tenmangu, Koto-in, and Zuihoin. E-bikes, helmets, and water are included. Guides such as Yuta, Michael, Sean, and Henry add history, Zen, and local etiquette to the relaxed route.

“We greatly enjoyed this tour by Sean very much and learned A TON about Japanese history and culture, seeing some lesser (tourist-known) areas of Kyoto. We felt well cared for even thru the intermittent rains, got our many questions answered, and enjoyed one of Sean's recommendations for a Kyoto-style ramen place after the ride. Note that Sean was quite well prepared to provide gear for the rain and cooler weather. Still would recommend bringing your raincoat or poncho and weatherproof gloves if you packed them and it is expected to rain on the day of your ride. Would book again!”

“My favorite tour in Tokyo! Minimal athletic challenge - just follow Gaku's lead and you'll get through the more difficult traffic sections. You do need to know how to ride a multi-speed bike and be able to steer around pedestrians! You get to see the entire city - from small neighborhoods to bustling city commerce centers, you see the myriad of environments and people that traverse the city every day. You see tiny, mid size, and gigantic shrines. I went by myself but was lucky enough to join 3 others that were all very friendly. The tour guide was very nice and gave detailed explanations and answered all of our…”

“This is a great way to see parts of the city that you might otherwise just not have time to see. It was great fun and we planned it on our first full day so we could cross a lot of sights off our list and know where else we would like to see the following days. Our guide was Julian, a fellow Brit but living in Japan for many years. He had great knowledge and was really easy going. Lunch was supposed to be at the noodle house but it was closed so we went to a sushi bar which was great fun! Definitely recommend it!”
